30 Oct CIYMS VS COOKE PREVIEW
This Saturday sees the Hoops back in action at Belmont versus local rivals Cooke. A big game as both clubs are still seeking a first league win. CI gave Ballyclare the fright of their lives at the Cloughan 2 weeks ago, with a Matt Kilgore inspired comeback which at one point looked like a being famous victory. A late and highly controversial try gave the league favourites a cushion in the end – but CI sent a message that their league position is not a reflection of the team’s true potential and a big win is getting closer by the day. Cooke are always a tough nut to crack – last year’s game was a very narrow win for CI – and the results between the two clubs tend to go with home advantage. But a tough one to call. Let’s hope that strong second half habit can take us all the way to a win.
Elsewhere this week Ballyclare, fresh from a big All Ireland Cup win in Castlebar, are on the road to Enniskillen who beat Instonians two weeks ago and are going to be in the mix at the top this year. Grosvenor entertain Carrick – not an easy one to call – and Instonians who surprisingly exited the All Ireland Cup last week will be seeking a return to form at home to Clogher Valley. Leaders Dromore travel to Armagh in a Conference game giving the chasing pack a chance to make up ground.
