16 Jan ENNISKILLEN VS CIYMS PREVIEW
Another full fixture list in Championship One this weekend. CI make the long haul trip to in-form Enniskillen after last weeks loss to Instonians. While we came second best last Saturday, the 4 try second half blitz guaranteed a bonus point which was some consolation to the news that came through from Chambers Park of the Portadown bonus point win over Carrick. A surprise for many and a result that further turned up the heat on the scrap at the bottom. Yards away on the other Shaws Bridge pitch, Cooke threw away a 19 point lead to lose against Clogher Valley and keep themselves in the relegation mix in a fight where home wins are essential.
Around the other Championship One games this week, Ballyclare will look to maintain joint top position with a home win against Grosvenor. Clogher Valley v Carrick is hard to call and will see two beefy packs slog it out. Cooke will not relish a trip to Barban Hill to face a Dromore side keen to bounce back after a surprisingly one sided result at the Cloughan last week. Instonians head for Chambers Park and will be already forgiven by CI for last weeks defeat – as we need them to win well against Portadown. An interesting fixture list once again.
At Belmont we have an early KO for the Seconds against Queens 3s. Given the low numbers travelling to Enniskillen, it would be good to see some support for the 2s . They are looking to notch up back to back wins after their try-fest 2 weeks ago against Ballymena. Try and get along and lend them your support.
