13 Feb COOKE VS CIYMS PREVIEW
A huge weekend of Championship One Rugby coming up. CIYMS make the short trip to Shaws Bridge to face Cooke in a potentially season changing encounter. A frustratingly narrow defeat at Belmont before Christmas demonstrated how little there is between the sides. Cooke sit just above the bottom 2 and will be every bit as determined as ourselves to take the points and pull clear. But recent results show they can leak plenty of tries and CI’s lively backline, if they get good ball, can trouble any defence in the league. A fierce contest is guaranteed -try and get along as there’s no Six Nations Rugby to distract you. Your support counts.
Elsewhere bottom club Portadown , fresh from a 27-0 defeat against Instonians, will not relish a trip to Barban Hill. League contenders Dromore are battling hard with Ballyclare for top spot and will be a big challenge for the Chambers Park men.The other two of the top three clash when Ballyclare entertain Enniskillen at the Cloughan. A hard one to call but home advantage might see Ballyclare through.
Clogher Valley host Instonians in a game that will go a long way to deciding 4th place if the home team prevail, and Grosvenor face a challenging trip to Carrick, needing points to avoid getting dragged into the scrap at the bottom.
All in all a tasty fixture list – please try and make it to Shaw’s Bridge for the big one!
