05 Mar CIYMS VS CARRICKFERGUS PREVIEW
Our last home League game of the season sees us take on Carrick in a rearranged fixture from a fortnight ago. In the meantime last week, rivals Portadown lost at Grosvenor in a game that turned on a breakaway try in the second half. Portadown were 10-0 down but pressing hard in the opposition 22 but a stray pass was gathered by Grosvenor and a 70 yard run-in ended the game as a contest. So Portadown who once had 4 games in hand have now played a game more than us and still trail by two points. The run in will be very tight with the Portadown v CI fixture on the 14th March at Chambers Park now looking like a huge game for both teams. Cooke remain in the mix with a difficult run-in and can still be caught, so the game at Shaws Bridge on the 28th could be another nail biter. Portadown will play Grosvenor at home that day so things could well go right to the wire for all three clubs. In League 2, recent results have gone well for Ballymoney and whoever finished second bottom are likely to be entertaining the men from the Toon in the play-off, most likely to be on 25th April.
There’s been a huge amount of work being done at training in the last few weeks and it will be good to finally see the team take the field on Saturday to showcase their efforts. Please try and get along to show your support. It makes a big difference.
