WELCOME TO CIYMS

It is a great honour to serve as President of CIYMS for the 2026/27 season, a club of which I have been a member for 45 years and almost 20 years as a player.

CI rugby club started over 100 years ago and we have a proud history which we intend to continue. We are delighted to have signed a number of new players for this season which we hope will strengthen our playing squad from our firsts to our thirds – three teams one club!

An exciting season lies ahead and I would encourage everyone to support all of our teams throughout the season, whether through attending matches, supporting our sponsors or joining Friends of CI (FOCI).

A major part of CI’s success are the Minis and Youth sections which provide a route from P1 to school leavers to the “senior” squad with several of our minis having played for our firsts.

My greatest wish for the incoming season is to have (1) an injury free year and (2) on field successes for all CI teams within the club. In addition it is always good to see CI members, past and present, at Belmont to support and enjoy CIYMS!!
